How adorable would this newborn witch hat be as a photo prop or even as part of a little costume?? You could easily modify this for a baby boy by adding stars and making this a wizard hat. I designed this very hat for me to sell. I do not sell my items very often but who in their right minds could pass this up for their new baby girl? <3 Enjoy this YARNTASTIC free pattern!

I would really like to make a witch hat for myself. I have found adult sized patterns, but none that resemble this baby hat. I like this one the best! I would like to make just the plaint hat with no flower. Do you have a pattern like that?
Thank you Corina!
I do not have an adult size but I do have a toddler size. I know many people have turned it into an adult size by continuing with the pattern of increases. 🙂
I feel like I’m missing something really simple here but I’m trying to start this and I’m confused. I’ve done the magic circle with 6 sta, ch 2 and then where am I doing the HDC? In the circle or what? Because I don’t understand how I can join back to the CH 2…
Yes, you put your stitches inside of the magic circle before pulling the circle closed.
This is my first attempt at crochet and I don’t understand round 1. Can you explain or direct me to beginners instructions?
If you do not understand the magic circle, you can CH 3 and slip stitch into the first CH to create your circle for crocheting into.
Sophie, great question! I have been wondering about this. My daughter would really like this hat. Very beginner here so I’m proud I know all the other stiches. Just can’t get past round one lol
I would like to print the pattern but the print friendly link doesn’t work. Could you email me the pattern. This is awesome – thanks.
Could you try Ctrl P and see if it works? I will see if I can find out whats wrong with print friendly.
Hello. For some reason I am not having my product come out the same. It’s good until you have the two rounds of increases back to back its seeming to get to big to fast. Is it supposed to be one round of increase then a single round of hdc? Love the look just need to get it right 🙂
Yeah, I do the two back to back. Not sure why it’s increasing too much for you. Have you continued on to make sure? If you want, you can send me a photo via msg on my FB page to see if we can figure it out.
I’m having some trouble will rows 23-34. Dose not come out even at end of row 22.
Ok I now have my 2%working correctly and it is coming out right.
Thanks
Confused??? Working up newborn hat … used purple for main color and changed to contrasting color, black in Rnd 28. When do I change back to purple, for the brim? Pattern ends with Rnd 31… What round does the brim start? Is this pattern missing roundsfor the brim? Thank you.
I’m making this for a baby but not exactly newborn their head is measuring at 14 will this pattern work?
